Cambridge Who's Who, also known as Worldwide Who's Who, is a vanity publisher based in Uniondale, New York. It describes itself as highlighting people's professional careers by publishing encapsulated biographies. For additional payment, the publisher also provides other promotional services such as press releases, videos, and Executive of the Year awards. The company is located in Uniondale, New York. As of 2010, Donald Trump Jr. was spokesman and "executive director of global branding" of the company. As of November 2016 the business was "not accredited" by the Better Business Bureau of Metropolitan New York, Long Island, and the Mid-Hudson Region.

Marquis Who's Who is an American publisher of a number of directories containing short biographies. The books usually are entitled Who's Who in... followed by some subject, such as Who's Who in America, Who's Who of American Women, Who's Who in the World, Who's Who in Science and Engineering, Who's Who in American Politics, etc. Often, Marquis Who's Who books are found in the reference section of local libraries, at corporate libraries, and are also used for research by universities.

Canadian Who's Who is a publication containing biographical information about 13,000 notable Canadians. Because of the absence of biographical fact-checking by the publishers, Canadian Who's Who is not used as a reference by mainstream Canadian media, and is rarely, if ever, quoted as a source.

Who's Who in Australia (WWIA) is an Australian biographical dictionary first published by Fred Johns in 1906 as Johns's Notable Australians. It is used as a resource for summary information on prominent Australians. WWIA is part of a series of reference works that includes Who's Who of Australian Women and Who's Who in Business in Australia.

Who's Who of Southern Africa is the name of an annual print publication distributed in Southern Africa, containing biographical information about prominent professionals in the Southern African region. According to the website, Southern Africa consists of South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Lesotho, Swaziland and Mozambique. The book has been a source of information regarding noteworthy people in Southern Africa for over 100 years.

Kraks Blå Bog is a Danish biographical dictionary. According to the publisher, it only contains autobiographies provided by the subjects themselves.

Nihon Tarento Meikan is a Japanese illustrated annual directory of Japanese entertainers, or tarentos, issued by VIP Times Inc. that was first published in 1970. The directory's company established on 1969 and its current representative director is Mutsuko Igusa.

Who's Who Among American High School Students was a web site and publication that listed what it claimed were high school students "who have excelled in academics, extracurricular activities and community service." The website shut down in November 2007 due to the bankruptcy of its parent firm.

Who's Who in American Art is a biographical hardcover directory of noteworthy individuals in the visual arts community in the United States, published by Marquis Who's Who, formerly by R. R. Bowker Publishing. The directory has also listed some individuals from Canada and Mexico, plus some American artists and arts professionals currently residing in other countries. The latest edition includes 11,000 biographies of artists, critics, curators, administrators, librarians, historians, collectors, educators, dealers, and conservators, of whom 9,000 are artists. The individuals featured in new 36th edition were obtained from nominations provided by current entrants, art associations, galleries and museums or from citations in professional publications. In many cases, though, the names are collected independently by Marquis research and editorial staffs, which use a wide assortment of tools to gather the most complete, accurate, and up-to-date information available.

Who's Who in CIA is a book written by the East German journalist Julius Mader and published in East Berlin in 1968, under Stasi auspices and probably with KGB assistance. Mader was employed by the East German military publishing house and apparently had access to some information on CIA officers that was not publicly available. The book purported to identify about 3,000 active agents of the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency. It was modeled after other Who's Who guides.

A vanity award is an award in which the recipient purchases the award and/or marketing services to give the false appearance of a legitimate honor. Pitches for Who's Who-type publications, biographies or nominations for awards or special memberships can have a catch to them in which the honoree is required to pay for recognition.
