The Strong Openweight Tag Team Championship (STRONG無差別級王座, STRONG musabetsu-kyū ōza) is a professional wrestling tag team championship owned and promoted by the New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW) promotion. The title is exclusively featured on NJPW's United States based television program NJPW Strong, essentially making it a U.S. Tag Team Championship. The current champions are The Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin), who are in their first reign as a team as well as individually.

Within the convention of the show, the company is a sports governing body which sanctions wrestling matches and gives authority to the championships and is responsible for maintaining the divisions and their rankings. In truth, the company serves as a touring theatre troupe, as well as event promotion body for its own events.

The team name, which has been variably Motor and Murder City, is a play on the nickname of Detroit, the hometown of both Shelley and Sabin. The duo also make appearances for New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW), on the NJPW Strong brand, where they are the current Strong Openweight Tag Team Champions in their first reign, and for Game Changer Wrestling (GCW), where they are currently in their first reign as GCW Tag Team Champions.

History

On June 8, 2022, NJPW announced the creation of the championship, with it being contested in an eight-team tournament that was then scheduled to determine the inaugural champions, culminating in a final match at Strong: High Alert on July 24, 2022. Aussie Open (Kyle Fletcher & Mark Davis) defeated Christopher Daniels & Yuya Uemura in the tournament final to become the inaugural champions.
