The St. Louis Metro Collegiate Baseball League, also known as the Metro League, is a collegiate summer baseball league in Greater St. Louis. The league was founded in 1979 by college and high school baseball coaches and by professional scouts. The league is a member of the National Amateur Baseball Federation (NABF) with the winner of the league playoffs qualifying for NABF post-season play in August.The Metro League has won three NABF National Championships in 2003, 2013 and 2015.

David Richard Freese is an American former professional baseball third baseman. He began his Major League Baseball (MLB) career with the St. Louis Cardinals, where he was a key player during the 2011 postseason, batting .545 with 12 hits in the 2011 National League Championship Series (NLCS). He also set an MLB postseason record of 21 runs batted in (RBIs), earning the NLCS MVP Award and World Series MVP Award. In addition, Freese won the Babe Ruth Award, naming him the MVP of the 2011 MLB postseason. He also played for the Los Angeles Angels, Pittsburgh Pirates, and Los Angeles Dodgers.

Bryan Alois Oelkers is an American former Major League Baseball pitcher. He attended Pattonville High School in Maryland Heights, Missouri and college at Wichita State. He batted and threw left-handed. He was drafted in the first round by the Minnesota Twins, one spot ahead of Dwight Gooden. Oelkers played two years in the majors — 1983 with the Minnesota Twins and 1986 with the Cleveland Indians. In 45 career games, he had a 3–8 record. In 103.1 innings, he allowed 126 hits with an ERA of 6.01. On August 16, 1986, Oelkers notched his only major league save in a 2-1 victory over the Orioles. He went 1⁄3 of an inning, retiring Jim Traber to preserve the victory. Oelkers preserved the win for Hall of Famer Phil Niekro.

Cliff Anthony Politte /pɒˈliːt/ is an American former professional baseball (right-handed) relief pitcher, who played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for four big league teams. He was selected in the 54th round of the 1995 Major League Baseball Draft by the St. Louis Cardinals as the 1438th player selected. Politte came up to the parent club in 1998. He threw the first pitch at the new Roger Dean Stadium in spring training, that year. From there, Politte went to the Philadelphia Phillies and then the Toronto Blue Jays, before signing with the Chicago White Sox in 2004. He won a World Series ring with the White Sox in 2005.

Robinson started at an early age playing baseball and football for N.Y.A. and playing hockey for the Valley Stars in St. Louis, MO. Robinson graduated from Hazelwood East High School and was a two sport star with brief playing time on the 1989 Missouri State 5A Championship team and holds the highest career batting average (.517) in school history, and also for goals scored in a season (29) on the ice hockey team. He went on to walk-on and play baseball at Southeast Missouri State University, Where in his Senior season, he had an Ohio Valley Conference record 35-game hitting streak that at the time was the 13th longest in NCAA history. In 1996, he led the Midwest League with a .359 batting average and 50 stolen bases and was second in the league in hits, triples, and runs while playing for Single-A Peoria.
