Marcin Pajak (born 21 October 1982) is a Polish musician, composer, vocalist, lyricist and multi instrumentalist who lives in London, United Kingdom. Mostly known for being a founder of Marcin Pajak, a progressive rock band, and for his previous work in bands Schist and Thetragon.[1]

Northern Ireland shares a land border with the Republic of Ireland; otherwise, the United Kingdom is surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean, the North Sea, the English Channel, the Celtic Sea and the Irish Sea. The total area of the United Kingdom is 242,495 square kilometres (93,628 sq mi), with an estimated 2020 population of more than 67 million people.

Career

Marcin Pająk was born on 21 October 1982 in Kielce. A musician, composer, producer and multi-instrumentalist who at the age of 17 attended the Yamaha music school in Skarżysko-Kamienna (Poland),[2] after graduating from music school he joined the heavy metal band Stone Heads and soon after in 2004 moved to London where he met drummer Tomasz Faustus which whom he formed the heavy metal band Out of Heaven. While working on the Out of Heaven debut album problems arose and both of them left the band and joined the band Schist where in 2009, they released their first debut album titled "Tribulation".[3] In the meantime, the band have completed the material for the new album and were preparing to release it but work was interrupted by the unexpected decision of Tomasz Faustus to return to Poland. When Schist suspended his activity in 2010, Marcin started a new progressive-rock project under his own name.

Meanwhile, Marcin played guitar in the well-known to fans of Polish metal Thetragon. It was where he met El Gordo Murkin a singer with whom he collaborated on his solo albums. With El Gordo Murkin, Marcin also had the pleasure of working on one of his albums called Murkin "No Known Cure", where he met W.R.Ona a bassist with whom he later collaborated on his solo albums. Marcin Pajak's debut album "Who I am" was released in Septenber 2014. To the next album "Other Side" from 2019 Marcin have invided more guests where in opening track "Between the Skies", the singer Wioletta Gawara performs her operatic vocals. El Gordo Murkin was a guest vocalist on the songs "Foreseen" and "Every time We Seek the Truth" and Krzysztof Jaciow, the actor and musician of The Wifebeaterz, who sang in the title song "Other side". The cover for this album and it's predecessor "Who I Am" was created by artist / painter Artur Kmita[4]

The following two albums where, "Last Day" 2020 and "Last Day in Poland" 2021. First of them took almost all year to create and was released on 13 November 2020, the cover for the album was designed and made by the artist himself. The next album is the artist's first concert album. "Last Day in Poland". The songs from the album "Last Day" are presented in concert form with other musicians.[5] The album was recorded at the Cultural Center in Chrzanów (Lesser Poland Voivodeship) on 15 May 2021. It is worth mentioning this album was only possible due to the group of musicians who participated in its implementation. Piotr V. Gawlik on drums, Piotr Sitkowski on keyboards, Michał Powązka on second guitar and W.R.Ona on bass guitar. Fourth studio album "Sound of the Trees", was released on 10 December 2021 and it is the first album to which the artist invited musicians he was previously working with. All the compositions, guitar, vocals and keyboards were recorded by Marcin in his own studio, while the percussion and bass parts were recorded by Piotr V. Gawlik and W.R.Ona in Nebula Studio in Warsaw. Michał Wojtas from Amarok, also recorded the keyboard parts in the song "Escape from Reality" and Wioletta Gawara sang a part in the song "Lost in the Crowd". Piotr V.[6][7] Gawlik painted the picture for the front cover of the album.

Fifth studio album was a concept album about a man trapped in the maze, it took eight months to complete the work, Marcin played all the guitars and sang, Piotr Sitkowski recorded the keyboards, Wiktor Świerczek played on saxophone, Wojciech Gulis played on bass guitar, Piotr V. Gawlik known from the previous album on drums and Marek Smok Rajss on percussion. It's also important to mention all the animations and cover for the album were done by Natalia Jonderko Śmiechowicz from N.Station Studio. The album entitled "The Maze" was released on 21/10/22.[8][9][10]
