Glamanand International India is a national beauty pageant in India that annually selects representative to compete in Miss International, one of the Big Four major international beauty pageants.[1][2][3] The pageant also selects representatives to Miss Grand International and Miss Multinational, an international pageant organized by the Glamanand group.[4][5]

Glamanand Supermodel India is one of the three major pageants of India having one of the Big four franchise under the national pageant.[6] Nikhil Anand, the founder and CEO of Glamanand Group, serves as one of the National Directors.[7]

The reigning Glamanand Supermodel India 2022 (Miss International India) is Kashish Methwani, who was crowned by the outgoing titleholder Zoya Afroz.

The Big Four or the Big League Pageants refers to the four major international beauty pageants for women – Miss World, Miss Universe, Miss International and Miss Earth. The group was first described by the China Daily newspaper in 2004 as "the world's four major beauty contests". In April 2008, the South China Morning Post described them as "four of the world's top beauty pageants"; the same description was also used by South Korea's leading newspaper, Chosun Ilbo in 2010. In 2017, the Latin Times considered the group as the "most important pageants in the world". In 2018, NBC News referred to them as the "four biggest international pageants", while Agencia EFE delineated them in 2019 as the "four most influential beauty pageants in the world".

Zoya Afroz

Zoya Afroz, is an Indian actress, model and a beauty pageant titleholder. Afroz won the title of Miss India International 2021 competing at the Glamanand Supermodel India contest and will represent India at the Miss International 2022 beauty pageant in Japan. Afroz was previously crowned as the second runner-up at Femina Miss India 2013.

History

India's representatives to the Miss International beauty pageant was initially selected by the Eve's Weekly Miss India contest, since its inception in 1960, until the year 1988.[8]

Since the year 1991, Femina Miss India sent Indian delegates to compete at Miss International, and was successful in producing two first runner-ups and one second runner-up titles.[9] The last highest placement of Femina Miss India's representative at Miss International was achieved by Shonali Nagrani, who was crowned as the first runner-up in Miss International 2003.[10][11] The Times Group dropped the franchise of Miss International in 2015. The last representative to Miss International by the Miss India Organization was Jhataleka Malhotra in 2014.[12][13]

The Glamanand Group acquired the rights to send India's delegates to the Miss International in the year 2015.[14] The first edition of this pageant was held on 4 November 2015 at Courtyard Marriott Hotel, New Delhi.[15] Supriya Aiman became the first delegate to win the title of Glamanand Miss International India.[16] From 2015 onwards, Glamanand Supermodel India is now responsible for the selection of future Miss International India.[17][18]

Alongside appearances as a model, Nagrani has hosted IPL for four consecutive years. She was voted as one of India's "50 Most Desirable Women" for the year 2011 and 2012 by the Times of India.

Karen Ibasco of the Philippines crowned her successor Nguyễn Phương Khánh of Vietnam at the end of the event. This is the first time Vietnam won the Miss Earth pageant, one of the Big Four international beauty pageants. On October 20, 2018, Miss Earth announced in their Facebook page that the winners of Eco-Video and Eco-Media Award winners automatically fast-tracked to the Top 18; the two delegates who earned two spots through the preliminary panel of judges and by the votes of social media.

Maharashtra is a state in the western peninsular region of India occupying a substantial portion of the Deccan Plateau. Maharashtra is the second-most populous state in India and the second-most populous country subdivision globally. It was formed on 1 May 1960 by splitting the bilingual Bombay State, which had existed since 1956, into majority Marathi-speaking Maharashtra and Gujarati-speaking Gujarat. Out of the total cultivable land in the state, about 60 per cent is used for grain crops in the Deccan region, rice in coastal Konkan, and other high rainfall areas.

Valerie Hernandez of Puerto Rico crowned her successor Edymar Martínez of Venezuela at the end of the event with a new crown created and designed by Mikimoto. The Continental Queens were awarded for the first time in this edition.
