Fishing industry in Wales
The fishing industry in Wales is a sector of the Welsh economy.
History
Fisherman in Monmouthshire have fished using lave nets in the Severn Estuary since the 17th-century.[1]
Overview
Commercial fishing in Wales employs approximately 600 people full-time and is valued at 39,000,000 pounds sterling.[2] 92% of Welsh fishing vessels are designated small-scale.[α][3]
