Stan Drayton

Stan Drayton

Stanley Drayton is an American football coach. He is currently the head coach at Temple University. He formerly served as the associate head coach, running backs coach, and run game coordinator at The University of Texas at Austin and also coached running backs for the Chicago Bears and Ohio State.

Head coach

Head coach

A head coach, senior coach, or manager is a professional at training and developing athletes. They typically hold a more public profile and are paid more than other coaches. In some sports, the head coach is instead called the "manager", as in association football and professional baseball. In other sports, such as Australian rules football, the head coach is generally termed a senior coach. A head coach typically reports to a sporting director or a general manager of the team.

Danny Langsdorf

Danny Langsdorf

Daniel Edward Langsdorf is an American football coach and former player who is currently the offensive coordinator for the Temple Owls. He was previously the offensive coordinator for the Oregon State Beavers and for the Nebraska Cornhuskers, as well formerly the quarterbacks coach for the University of Colorado.

Offensive coordinator

Offensive coordinator

An offensive coordinator is a member of the coaching staff of an American football or Canadian football team who is in charge of the team's offense. Generally, along with the defensive coordinator and the special teams coordinator, this coach represents the second level of coaching structure after the head coach.

Adam Scheier

Adam Scheier

Adam Scheier is an American football coach and former player. He currently works for Temple. He previously served as the Bowling Green interim head coach during the 2013 Little Caesars Pizza Bowl, as Dave Clawson had left to take the head coaching job at Wake Forest University. He also served as the special teams coordinator for the Rutgers Scarlet Knights football team.

Tight end

Tight end

The tight end (TE) is an offensive position in American football, arena football, and Canadian football. It is a hybrid that combines the characteristics and roles of both an offensive lineman and a receiver. Like offensive linemen, they are usually lined up on the offensive line and are large enough to be effective blockers. On the other hand, unlike offensive linemen, they are eligible receivers and potent weapons in team's offensive schemes.

Wide receiver

Wide receiver

A wide receiver (WR), also referred to as a wideout, historically known as a split end (SE) or flanker (FL), is an eligible receiver in gridiron football. A key skill position of the offense, WR gets its name from the player being split out "wide", farthest away from the rest of the offensive formation.

Safety (gridiron football position)

Safety (gridiron football position)

Safety is a position in gridiron football on the defense. The safeties are defensive backs who line up ten to fifteen yards from the line of scrimmage. There are two variations of the position: the free safety and the strong safety. Their duties depend on the defensive scheme. The defensive responsibilities of the safety and cornerback usually involve pass coverage towards the middle and sidelines of the field. While American (11-player) formations generally use two safeties, Canadian (12-player) formations generally have one safety and two defensive halfbacks, a position not used in the American game.

Chris Woods (American football coach)

Chris Woods (American football coach)

Chris Woods is an American football coach. He is the linebackers coach for Temple Owls football program. Prior to that was the defensive coordinator for the Dallas Renegades of the newly-formed XFL. Wood served as the head football coach at Mansfield University of Pennsylvania from 2001 to 2003 and Stonehill College from 2004 to 2006. He was the interim head football coach at Texas State University for the final game of the 2018 season.

Linebacker

Linebacker

Linebacker (LB) is a playing position in gridiron football. Linebackers are members of the defensive team, and line up three to five yards behind the line of scrimmage and the defensive linemen. They are the "middle ground" of defenders, playing closer to the line of scrimmage than the defensive backs (secondary), but farther back than the defensive linemen.

College recruiting

College recruiting

In college athletics in the United States, recruiting is the process in which college coaches add prospective student athletes to their roster each off-season. This process typically culminates in a coach extending an athletic scholarship offer to a player who is about to be a junior in high school or higher. There are instances, mostly at lower division universities, where no athletic scholarship can be awarded and where the player pays for tuition, housing, and textbook costs out of pocket or from financial aid. During this recruiting process, schools must comply with rules that define who may be involved in the recruiting process, when recruiting may occur and the conditions under which recruiting may be conducted. Recruiting rules seek, as much as possible, to control intrusions into the lives of prospective student-athletes. The NCAA defines recruiting as “any solicitation of prospective student-athletes or their parents by an institutional staff member or by a representative of the institution’s athletics interests for the purpose of securing a prospective student-athlete’s enrollment and ultimate participation in the institution’s intercollegiate athletics program."

Scout.com

Scout filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in December 2016 and was then acquired by CBS Corporation in February 2017 for $9.5 million after submitting the only bid for the bankrupt company.
