2023 Florida Atlantic Owls football team

Conference USA is an intercollegiate athletic conference whose current member institutions are located within the Southern United States. The conference participates in the NCAA's Division I in all sports. C-USA's offices are located in Dallas, Texas.

Willie Author Taggart is an American football coach who is the running backs coach for the Baltimore Ravens of the National Football League (NFL). He has held the head coach position at five NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision programs: Western Kentucky ; South Florida ; Oregon (2017); Florida State ; and Florida Atlantic. At all five schools, he was the first African-American to be hired as the head coach.

The 2023 Penn State Nittany Lions football team will represent Pennsylvania State University in the 2023 NCAA Division I FBS football season as a member of the Big Ten Conference. The team is expected to be led by James Franklin in his tenth year as Penn State's head coach.

The 2023 Western Kentucky Hilltoppers football team will represent Western Kentucky University in the 2023 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The 2022 Central Michigan Chippewas football team represent Central Michigan University in the 2022 NCAA Division I FBS football season. They were led by fourth-year head coach Jim McElwain and play their home games at Kelly/Shorts Stadium as members of the West Division of the Mid-American Conference.

The 2022 Indiana Hoosiers football team represented Indiana University in the 2022 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Hoosiers played their home games at Memorial Stadium in Bloomington, Indiana and competed as a member of the East Division of the Big Ten Conference. The team was led by sixth-year head coach Tom Allen. They finished the season 4–8, 2–7 in Big Ten play to finish in sixth place in the East division.

The 2022 Arizona Wildcats football team represented the University of Arizona during the 2022 NCAA Division I FBS football season. They were led by second-year head coach Jedd Fisch, and played their home games at Arizona Stadium in Tucson, Arizona. It was the Wildcats' 123rd season overall and 44th as a member of the Pac-12 Conference. The Wildcats finished 5–7 overall and failed to qualify for a bowl game.

The 2022 Purdue Boilermakers football team represented Purdue University in the West Division of the Big Ten Conference for the 2022 NCAA Division I FBS football season. Jeff Brohm was in his sixth season as the team's head coach. The Boilermakers played their home games at Ross–Ade Stadium in West Lafayette, Indiana. Purdue finished the season 8–4, 6–3 in Big Ten play to win the West division. As a result, they received a bid to the Big Ten Championship Game for the first time in program history, where they lost to Michigan. They received a bid to the Citrus Bowl where they lost to LSU.

The 2022 Texas State Bobcats football team represented Texas State University as a member of the Sun Belt Conference during the 2022 NCAA Division I FBS football season. They will be led by head coach Jake Spavital, who will be coaching his fourth season with the team. The Bobcats will play their home games at Bobcat Stadium in San Marcos, Texas.

Thomas Herman III is an American football coach and head coach of the Florida Atlantic Owls. He was the head football coach for the Texas Longhorns at the University of Texas at Austin from 2017 to 2020. Prior to that, he served as the head football coach at the University of Houston from 2015 to 2016.

Charles Thomas Frye is a former American football quarterback and former quarterbacks coach for the Miami Dolphins of the National Football League (NFL). He was drafted by the Cleveland Browns in the third round of the 2005 NFL Draft. He played college football at Akron. He is currently offensive coordinator for Florida Atantic.

Everett Rowe Withers is an American football coach and former player. He currently serves as the assistant head coach and defensive passing game coordinator for the Florida Atlantic Owls. He formerly served as the defensive coordinator at FIU, and previously served defensive backs coach for the New York Giants and as the head coach for the Texas State Bobcats. Withers served as head football coach at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill during the 2011 season as well as James Madison University in the 2014 and 2015 seasons.

Chad Kevin Lunsford is an American football coach who is currently the tight ends coach at Florida Atlantic. He previously served as the head coach of the Georgia Southern Eagles football team. He was awarded the job on November 27, 2017 after serving as interim for the second half of the season following the firing and departure of Tyson Summers. Following a 1–3 start, Lunsford was fired by Georgia Southern early in the 2021 season.

David Beaty is an American football coach who is the wide receivers coach at Florida Atlantic University. He served as the head football coach at the University of Kansas from 2015 to 2018.
